James Grant was the lead vocalist of the 80's pop sensations Love and Money before going solo in 1998. A mutual friend decided to promote a one-off show of James playing an acoustic set in an art gallery in Liverpool, England. Limepickle was approached to design some posters, flyers and social media banners for the show. With limited resources and time, we decided that playing acoustic was as bare bones as a musician could go, and we wanted to do the same with the look of the promotion whilst being cognizant of the venue. A monochromatic 'art print' was the route we chose to explore. An image of the Liver Buildings was drawn and then combined with one of James' publicity shots. The composition lent itself to mutiple crops with varying degrees of white space.
